AAYouth Key Projects

Under the AAYouth Strategic Plan 2012 – 2017 titled “Youth Arise” AAYouth identifies four thematic areas for which its projects are based. Through them AAYouth has initiated projects in local communities, synergised throughout the world aimed at inspiring youth to rise up and participate in nation building through trainings, campaigns, demonstrations, and public dialogue forums.
 

Community Building and Volunteering

AAYouth organises and mobilise youth to provide their efforts through volunteering to build their communities while gaining career experience and achievement motivation. AAYouth chapters in all countries organize volunteering teams to identify needs in their own communities volunteer to work to address these needs. AAYouth generally identify and adopt children care centres where youth can go regularly to volunteer and give companionship to orphans.


Training youth and helping them build new enterprise while developing a culture of entrepreneurship in Africa and Asia. AAYouth holds free month-long entrepreneurship training workshops for young people who aspire the skills to start businesses. Programme graduates are also given a hands-on practical experience to be able to work with successful entrepreneurs and see how small businesses are run.




 
Youth HIV/AIDS prevention Awareness evene

   

Run in conjuction with the Newham HIV/AIDS prevention partnership (NHAPP), this workshop provides and avenue where discussion about HIV/AIDS will be a focal point, using young people themselves to develop a theme.

The facilitators ensure that the objectives are relevant tto the subject of discussion. The theme will have a storyline, whereby their target group will perform using different techniques. Through this medium, those attending will explore the action and decisions that might steer them away from the disease. Monthly workshops

The project forms the central part of youth arise, consisting campaigns inspiring youth to be part of democratic processes, seizing opportunities to make leaders accountable and being the vanguard of the poor through vibrant activism and campaigns. AAYouth organizes youth dialogue workshops in different cities enabling young people to speak up about policy issues affecting them and making recommendations to government leadership and especially parliament.
